We are happy to be the Creators of a new Designer Dog called Chatham Hill Retriever^®

The Chatham Hill Retriever^® is a hybrid dog. Chatham Hill Retrievers^® are a cross between our Flat-Coated Retriever and our American Cocker Spaniel. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed.

While there are some variations, the concept is to downsize the Retriever and reduce the shedding, using a dog that is a smaller Spaniel type with similar structure, appearance and physical traits as the Retriever. The desired result of this crossbreeding is a dog that looks like a much smaller version of a Retriever, maturing to 20"- 23" tall, weighing somewhere between 35-45 lbs. Some may call these dogs "Miniature Retrievers".

Our "Chattie" puppies' parent dogs have great temperaments, sound health, are very intelligent and of course, are beautiful dogs. This resulting litter should have sound health, excellent temperament, and a love of affection just like the parent dogs and combine great attributes from both pure-breeds. The result of this crossbreed is a healthy, happy and confident puppy that will be a great companion for many years. As the history of both parents shows; they are also from sound healthy lineage. We are confident that the new homes we find for them will be as pleased as we are with the parent dogs. Some of the new owners of these Mini Retrievers are training their pups to be hunter, traveling companions, and therapy dogs.

Chatham Hill Retrievers^® make ideal family pets. Anxious to please, they are easy to train, and are real people lovers. "Chatties" love adults and children of all ages and are great family companions! Very playful, fun, and gentle natured, they get along well with people, other dogs and animals.

These Miniature Retrievers come in Black, Brown, Yellow (variations of yellow--cream, red). Some pups have a white patch on chest or be completely solid in color. The hair may be straight and flat or have a natural wave to it. Our litters are always planned and we can predict the colors that will come out from the breeding pair.
